Price Capital | Making Markets Work

Price Capital is a dynamic, technology-driven proprietary trading firm supporting quantitative and fundamental trading operations across global currency markets. We are an established FX market-maker with a track record of consistent profitability under varying market conditions.

Price is committed to recruiting and retaining passionate traders and scientists who are driven to achieve excellence in work and play. We are invested in the ongoing happiness and success of our employees. We believe that by emphasizing teamwork, flexibility and results, and supporting our employee's goals, we inherently drive the continued success of our business.

We trade our own capital so we take on the risks associated with each trade. Our presence benefits markets by reducing spreads, increasing liquidity and providing price discovery enabling a more efficient and fairer market for investors.

Price is a dynamic firm – constantly moving, constantly scaling to new heights. We create a stimulating environment for our people, allowing great minds to invent new ideas, strategies and models.

We are a small group of ambitious people helping each other to strive for new heights and realising greatness in everything we do. Most importantly, we will as a group push for new great ideas to go from the white-board (or paper napkin) to finished solutions within days, giving us an advantage our competitors can only dream of. None of this would be possible if each one of us wouldn't be the best in what we do.

The people making Price a continuing success story have different backgrounds, ethnicities and a unique strength to provide to the group. Our diversity moulds our organisation for the future but what defines us as leading organisation in our field are the core values we all share:

Leadership

With confidence, ability and knowledge we take decisive action on a daily basis.

Intelligence

The ability to classify "useful" vs. "toxic" information defines our level of success.

Balance

A healthy and balanced life-style gives us the strength we must have to out-perform.

Overachievement

Doing things well is not enough for us. Being the best at what we do is what sets us apart.

Entrepreneurialism

We take risks every day, we survive and excel because we have prepared ourselves over a life-time.

At Price we are always looking for talented individuals to join our organisation. As a tightly glued team of talented performers backed by a well-capitalized organisation, we look for the best of the best to be a part of our team.

Talented overachievers that join us will not just get our backing in terms of time, knowledge and money, but equally important, we create opportunities for each member to evolve our business into new markets and expand our organisation with new exciting ventures.

Our remuneration packages are highly competitive – they are designed to recruit and keep the best people. We reward ambition that results in excellent performance. As we are quite sensitive about numbers and understand price and value probably a little bit better than most other organisations, we make sure that our people always receive the remuneration that matches their excellent standard.

Price Proprietary Trading Programme (PricePTP) FAQ's

How many trainees are you looking to recruit for the Price Proprietary Trading Programme (PricePTP)?

We start a new round of recruitment and training when we believe we have the time and resources to invest in our candidates.

Can I take the tests again if I don't pass them the first time?

No. If you passed the tests but we couldn't offer you a seat, we will keep you in our reserves for the next recruitment phase.

How long does the PricePTP training take?

Apx. 8 weeks. First two weeks will be packed with Theory and Research. Candidates must pass tests every week during the training and evaluation period, proving they have absorbed the information. The training will be extremely fast-paced. Candidates who pass all key stages of the PricePTP and successfully complete the Final Evaluation on the Simulators will be able to go LIVE. An entry to PricePTP does not guarantee a Trader position.

What happens when I pass all PricePTP stages?

At that point, which should not take longer than 8 weeks from the day you started your training, you will be able to go LIVE. That means that you get contracted as a sole-proprietor and assigned a credit limit so you can start putting the strategies you have trained on to work in the markets.

Your credit limit will increase as you trade profitably. During your development phase, which is around 6 months, you will continue to be coached and evaluated while you receive on-going mentoring.

Will I get paid during the PricePTP training period or reimbursed for travel costs during the interviews?

No.

Will I get a salary when I pass the PricePTP?

No. You will be contracted as self-employed (sole-proprietor) and your livelihood must be earned from your trading activities. It is crucial that those who consider participating in the PricePTP realise that they must be able to support themselves financially during the training period (apx. 2 months) and possibly for another few months until they can generate sufficient amounts of income from trading. The average development phase is approximately 6 months from the enrolment date.

Do I need to fund an account or invest money before I can go LIVE if I pass the PricePTP?

There is no financial commitment to be made by trader trainees passing the PricePTP. Price will provide financial backing to traders who pass the PricePTP.

I didn't get accepted to PricePTP, can I pay a fee to join the next training programme?

No. At this stage we only have the time and resources to support the candidates that get accepted to the PricePTP.

Why don't I receive a salary when I pass the PricePTP successfully or during the training phase?

It's important for us that our candidates have the right mind-set and the characteristics of a successful trader from the outset. We don't offer basic salaries for three simple reasons:

  1. Trading is a risk business. We look for people who are comfortable in risk environments. Price will assume risk on our candidates by spending time and resources on training them and then we will risk our own money backing them up during their career. The least we expect from our traders is that they take the initial risk (spending their time learning and training without income for some months) and can be comfortable with it.

Regardless what you have heard before, trading is NOT for everyone.

  2. Once a candidate is successful and earning money from trading activities, they will not need any basic salary because they are already successful and earning a good income. If a candidate isn't trading profitably after some time of going LIVE, there is really no incentive for a firm to provide a basic salary either.

  3. Our company culture is a fully reward-based system that only suits people with an entrepreneurial mindset. You will essentially be running your own trading business with the infrastructure, resources and knowledge that we provide you. All the freedoms of running your own profitable business is also there for you to enjoy.

Keep in mind that a trading career should not be mistaken for a job. If a salaried job is important and one still wishes to work in the financial industry there are many other options in investment banking, insurance, advisory, etc.
